[There was no peaceful waking up. It wasn't the slow process of getting to enjoy a good slumber, groggily waking up, rolling over, stretching. No, it was just the opposite.]

[It was completely abrupt, the way his eyelids fluttered open, followed by immediately sitting upright.]

Wh--what the--- arrrgh!

[Despite days of sleep, Yosuke felt weak. He felt tired, as if he could collapse, and he didn't recognize his current surrounding. His eyes were bloodshot and his head was throbbing, so much so that he could only lean forward to grab his head. All of this was enough for him to even ignore the fact that his shirt still managed to be soaked with Jiraiya's saliva. Never a break from that, ever.]

[It hurt to think, memories of all those dreams still so fresh in his mind. Not cool. Definitely not cool.]

[A while after waking up - and being filled in on everything that happened, Yosuke turns on the video. He looks weak - pale, tired - his eyes are bloodshot and there are dark circles under them. He's lacking his usual energy, only offering a weak smile, but still sounding surprisingly sullen, given his normal demeanor.]

I - well, hey, I guess. I just kinda got filled in on everything that's been going on. So I guess I wanted to know... uh, how many people are still like this? You know, totally not conscious? There was a lot to start - that I know, but ugh...

Dammit, just when you think this place is kind of okay...

Me and Rise -- we're both okay now. The centre's still gonna be closed a bit longer too. Not that it's really important with all this other stuff going on. But we'll all be back in Goldenrod soon too, I guess.

[He falls quiet, hesitating for a second - almost as if he's got something else to say, but instead, he just cuts communication.]

[ Souji's not going to ask or rub in about that flushed face. He doesn't want Yosuke to snap or anything. ]

Ready for some food now, or do you want to sleep some more?

[He really appreciates that right now. He's definitely not ready to talk about it. So he just sort of shakes his head and ruffles his hair again.]

I'm starving dude. That was like... four days of no food.

Thought so.

What are you in the mood for?

Well, I do owe you a fried rice dinner, don't I?

[ A chuckle. ]

You sure know how to make a guy happy, partner. [ That might have sounded a bit more... erm, well, yeah, take it however you like. ]

[And then a sudden turn away because someone is totally taking it that way.]

D-dude--! Y-you're making it sound...

Sound?

[ Was that the wrong thing to say? ]

Y-you know. Kind of...

[GAY. GAY, SOUJI. GAY.]

[ Oh, he gets it... He puts up one hand. ]

Don't mean it that way, Partner. [ But in a way, he does. ]

[There's a slight pang of relief... followed by a strange tightness in his chest.]

I-I know! It still just... does, though...

[ And now going back to why Souji is so hesitant in just telling him about everything right there, right now. Just look at how Yosuke is reacting to just one line. ]

Forgot I've said anything and let's go.

R-right.

[But he sounds distant, hesitant as he says it. That tight feeling in his chest won't go away - why did saying that physically hurt?]

Gotta... get there before they close.

[ Already making his way out the door, waiting for Yosuke to catch up. ]

You wouldn't know of any places around, would you?

[Slowly following behind. And feeling really weak, but trying to fight it.] Not at all... I haven't even been here before, so... I guess we'll find something.

Do you need anything else other than food, like medicine?

N-no... I'm okay. I think once I have some food, I'll be fine. [Not sure he believes it, but doesn't want Souji to worry.]

If you say so.

[ And oh look, they're outside already. Uh, what is with these restaurant names? 'The Phởkemon Master'? 'Miltank King'? ] Which one?

[Shrugging and looking at the signs blankly.] Whatever you want man. I'm the one that owes you dinner, remember?

It's fine. I'm willing to eat anything at this point.

[ He hasn't eaten a lot for the past while, especially when he's worrying about Rise and Yosuke. ]

Uh, that one then, I guess. [Points to a curry joint with a shrug.]

[ A curry joint, huh? Wow, Souji hasn't eaten at one of those in a long while. With a small nod, he enters in and waits to be seated. When the two of them are directed to a nice table by the windows, Souji takes a seat down and casually looks through the menu. After he finishes, he looks up to speak; ]

So, do you remember anything before passing out? [ before the Shedinja sucking soul thing... ]

[Yosuke does the same, looking at the menu. After not eating for so long, everything looks good. He finally decides, closing the menu and turning his attention back to Souji. He gives his head a shake.]

It's all kind of just... a huge blur.

Kinda like falling asleep?

I guess. I really don't remember anything about it aside from waking up.

Must've been a strange feeling to literally have your soul sucked away.
