[There was no peaceful waking up. It wasn't the slow process of getting to enjoy a good slumber, groggily waking up, rolling over, stretching. No, it was just the opposite.]

[It was completely abrupt, the way his eyelids fluttered open, followed by immediately sitting upright.]

Wh--what the--- arrrgh!

[Despite days of sleep, Yosuke felt weak. He felt tired, as if he could collapse, and he didn't recognize his current surrounding. His eyes were bloodshot and his head was throbbing, so much so that he could only lean forward to grab his head. All of this was enough for him to even ignore the fact that his shirt still managed to be soaked with Jiraiya's saliva. Never a break from that, ever.]

[It hurt to think, memories of all those dreams still so fresh in his mind. Not cool. Definitely not cool.]

[A while after waking up - and being filled in on everything that happened, Yosuke turns on the video. He looks weak - pale, tired - his eyes are bloodshot and there are dark circles under them. He's lacking his usual energy, only offering a weak smile, but still sounding surprisingly sullen, given his normal demeanor.]

I - well, hey, I guess. I just kinda got filled in on everything that's been going on. So I guess I wanted to know... uh, how many people are still like this? You know, totally not conscious? There was a lot to start - that I know, but ugh...

Dammit, just when you think this place is kind of okay...

Me and Rise -- we're both okay now. The centre's still gonna be closed a bit longer too. Not that it's really important with all this other stuff going on. But we'll all be back in Goldenrod soon too, I guess.

[He falls quiet, hesitating for a second - almost as if he's got something else to say, but instead, he just cuts communication.]

[ Y'know, just being a good bro and checking in on Yosuke because Souji is worried sick. So, when the door creeks open and he peeks inside... ]

Yosuke-- [ Nope, not even finishing that because oh God, you look sick and tired and SOUJI WANTS A GODDAMN HUG-- but first making his way to your bedside. ]

Yosuke-! You're okay!

... Sort of.

[He eyes that slobber there.]

Sou--

[The sound of Souji's voice is enough to jolt his head up. His hair is disheveled and boy does he look like a hot mess. He masks the feeling like total crap with a smile.]

When the hell did you get-

[And then remembering he doesn't know where "here" is, or how he got there... or how long he's been sleeping for.]

Hehe, geez. What a mess this turned out to be.

Hehe, yeah. Sorry if I worried you, man. I don't even know how the hell I got into all this mess.

I see... so you are a friend of Miss Rise?

I am so glad to hear that everyone seems to be waking up.

O-oh, yeah - I've known Rise for a while now. I guess you know her too, huh?

Other people are too now, then... that's good. Really good.

We met on my very first day here... she is very sweet and full of energy.

People are opening their eyes now, and now I am just waiting for two of my other companions to wake up.

Hehe, yep - that sounds like Rise to me for sure. She's pretty awesome, isn't she?

[And then a small pause.] Two of them? Damn... I, uh, well, I hope they wake up soon.

[ Souji gets over to the bed, ignoring everything that Yosuke has been saying, and immediately pulling him into a tight hug. He doesn't quite care that the other's shirt is covered with slobber or that maybe he'll catch whatever Yosuke might be having, he just needs a hug right now. ]

Yes, someday I'd really love to meet her in person. Though I worry that I might not be able to keep up.

[ Gives a small smile. ] I believe that they will. And none of us are giving up until they do. [ SHe is not sleeping nor resting until then. ]

[The hug catches him completely off-guard, immediately causing him to stiffen up.]

D-dude! Wh-what the hell-- come on! Awake for less than five minutes and I totally already feel like a girl...

[Despite not having his soul taken, John looks to be in almost as bad a shape as you, Yosuke. Dark circles, paler-than-normal complexion...yeah. Since Thursday, he's had about 8 hours of sleep. And only because he was hypnosis'd by Rose's Noctowl.]

Yosuke! You're awake again!

[And this is good news.]

What? No way! I mean, Rise's got a lot of energy, but she always makes time for her friends. She's awesome at that kind of stuff.

[He nods in understanding.] Yeah, I totally don't blame you. Friends don't give up on friends, right?

John - hehe, yeah... good as new, you know?

[And a pause. He's not in good shape at all, but even he can clearly see that John's a hot mess right now.]

What about you, dude? You look totally beat.

[Okay, Shiraishi's never talked to Yosuke, but he's heard about him from Rise... so maybe he should say something? Maybe]

There are still quite a few unconcious... but at this rate everyone should be back sooner or later. Hopefully soon.

She really is very kind. Athrun also tells me she is an idol. I'd love to hear her sing.

[ Shaking her head. ] No. They don't. What kind of friend would I be if I did?

I'm fine. [He doesn't even hesitate in saying this. It's been his automatic response for the majority of the weekend.]

I am glad to hear that you're okay again.

[He hesitates, his face falling a little. He's not sure whether it's okay to ask this or not. But it's just something he has to know.]

Um...what...what exactly happened? You know, while you were out?

I'm just glad other people are waking up now too. I mean, seriously. This whole thing's been so messed up.

[ He doesn't loosen his hug when he feels Yosuke stiffening up, maybe even holding on tighter. ]

You've had me worried sick, y'know that?

Sure as hell seems like it, huh? The weird part is... I don't even remember doing it. Ugh.

It's not like I did it on purpose! [Dammit, Kanji. He understands, so it's Yosuke speak for "yeah, totally not happening again."]
